How to store precision steel pipes so they don’t rust
Precision steel pipes usually oxidize during storage, leading to rust. However, with the development of science and technology, the storage conditions of steel pipes are getting better and better, and the anti-oxidation technology has also developed very advanced. Now when we store products, we usually put the steel pipe in a shed and sprinkle some powder containing sodium chloride on its surface. This is to neutralize the rust elements from the outside. However, it must be noted that the sodium chloride powder needs to be re-spreaded every once in a while.
How to deal with the clogging problem of precision steel pipes caused by the shedding of oxide scale on the inner wall. First, use a steel wire rope that is about 80% of the inner diameter of the furnace tube to clear the interior. Poke off the oxide scale on the inner wall of the tube and pierce the oxide scale blocking the furnace tube. After the steel wire rope is cleared, use a high-pressure water gun (the pump outlet pressure is about 80MPa) to continuously flush each inner wall. After the flushing is completed, use an endoscope to inspect each tube.
Ensure that the inside of the pipe is unobstructed: According to the endoscopic inspection after the flushing, the precision steel pipe is pickled for the second time (the wall superheater failed to be pickled due to structural reasons), which was the first pickling after the boiler installation was completed. Because the internal oxide condition of the vertical water-cooled wall tube is unknown, and the sampled tube is a normal and qualified spiral water-cooled wall sample tube. Therefore, the one used is very effective against rust and scale impurities. However, the EDTA cleaning process is not very effective for high-temperature oxide scales. In view of the situation discovered after the furnace tube leaked, we used compound acid (catalytic citric acid) as the medium and designed a "two-step cleaning method". After two powerful chemical cleanings, all the oxide scale on the inner wall was finally cleaned.
